Product Designer/Illustrator

Location: Coppell, TX

JOB OVERVIEW:

As an in-house Product Designer/Illustrator at Gemmy Industries, your role requires creativity, flexibility, and a passion for innovative design in the seasonal décor space. You’ll be in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to deliver exceptional work while managing multiple projects amid changing priorities. You must be comfortable transitioning easily between projects, collaborating effectively with various product teams, and communicating professionally in all workspaces, including our factory abroad. Attention to detail and a desire to produce quality work are a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceptualize new product ideas for various seasonal product lines in many artistic styles (realistic, whimsical, humorous, etc.)
  • Take concepts from brainstorm to sketch to fully detailed, finished art 
  • Follow and be aware of style and material trends in the marketplace
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills, collaborating effectively with various product teams to conceive great design
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to shift gears between projects while maintaining quality and a positive attitude

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency on Mac-based platform
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Knowledge of other design software a plus (ZBrush, Nomad Sculpt, Procreate…etc)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a professional, creative environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, Art or 3D Design

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exhibits strong illustrative and visual problem-solving skills
  • Includes examples of creative process (sketch > color art > final product)
  • Shows proven examples of skills in Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as any other design software (ZBrush, Nomad Sculpt, Procreate…etc.)
  • Shows proven examples of seasonal décor product design
